Results of Shakeology 3 day cleanse

So, I realized that I didn’t post the end results of my Shakeology cleanse.  I had GREAT success.  There were 6 of us that did the cleanse and had varied results.  I personally got rid of 9 lbs in 3 days.  I won’t go into specifics about who got rid of what, but I can tell you that one person got rid of 7 lbs, 2 people got rid of 6lbs, one person got rid of 3 lbs, and the last person got rid of 2 lbs.  I really like how I feel after it’s over.  It’s not harsh on your body and it’s fairly simple to do.  Shakeology, green tea and water…oh and don’t forget the salad.  This is the 2nd cleanse that I have personally done with Shakeology and I will continue to do it every 3 months.

Getting Started

I’ve had a few people ask me what it took to get started in the fitness world.  And I have to say it hasn’t always been the easiest task.  But now that I’ve gotten into a pattern, it’s a lot easier.  I’ve done a little research, and found some ideas as well.  I hope this will help you all.
1.       Time.  You have to find the time, create the time, and make the time to exercise.  Doesn’t have to be a long time either.  Start with 5 or 10 minutes.  Do some jumping jacks, or pushups, or squats, or hand weights.  Nothing too strenuous.  Just something to get you in the habit of making the time for yourself.  Also, figure out realistically how much time you can give to working out.  Can you find time 7 days and week, and if so, will you really want to work out every day?  Everyone is different.  For me, I try to work out 5 times a week and let my weekends be my rest days.  Find what works for you. 
2.       Find something you enjoy.  I used to go to the gym, but found I lost motivation quickly because I didn’t know exactly what I was doing or should be doing.  I’ve tried some work out videos and yoga videos but didn’t always like doing the same one every day.  Now I am doing Turbo Fire that mixes up my workouts every day.  It’s fun and energetic so I look forward to that time.  If you’re on a budget, crank up some great workout songs and dance around or lift some weights or run in place.  You can have a great workout, even on a budget.   If you need help finding a great program that will work for you, check out this website. http://www.saltlakefitclub.com/.
3.       Make Goals.  You don’t have to make one big goal that says you’re going to lose 50 lbs.  Make smaller goals.  To me, it’s easier to say I’m going to lose 5 or 10 lbs by such and such date.  And I feel so great when I meet those goals.  I know a lot of people set goals that just seem too far out of reach to accomplish and they give up.
4.       Create a support system.  It’s a lot easier to give up when you’re your only support.  Tell people that you’re going to get healthy.  Tell them you’re going to watch what you eat.  Tell them you’re going to lose weight.  It makes it harder for you to give up knowing that other people are watching you. 
5.       Measure and take before and after pictures.  A lot of people rely on the scale to tell them how well or not they are doing.  But the scale is far from accurate.  So, make sure to measure yourself in the beginning of your fitness journey.  I’ve read so many articles of people thinking that they are losing anything because the scale isn’t moving.  But then you see before and after pictures and measurements and you can tell without any doubt that what you’re doing is in fact paying off. 
6.       Last but not least, remember that getting fit is not an overnight adventure.  It probably took you time to get to the weight that you are at now, and it’s going to take time to get it off.  It’s a life change.  You can’t expect to work out once a week and eat like a pig the rest of the time and still lose weight.  Make little changes so it’s not overwhelming.  Reduce your caloric intake, reduce your fat intake.  Just make minor changes until you’re eating habits are healthy and implement those into your daily lives. 
These are just some things that I know were hard for me.  I hope they helped you.  There are so many support groups and people the help you through your weight loss journey.  Together we can “stop the trend of obesity” and make this world a healthier place.

Day 2 of shakeology Cleanse

Just a quick update.  Day 2 of the Shakeology cleanse.  Feeling good.  We’ve all been joking around about how good other foods are going to taste, but I’ve been honestly full for most of the day.  Now, I get to go home and have a delicious salad with tons of veggie’s and chicken and low fat dressing!  YUM!  And I saved a snack for me to have later also.  So far so good.  I did weigh myself this morning, but not sure if I really believe it, so I’ll give you all the update tomorrow.  I have to say that I’m so glad that I have such a great support system.  It’s so important when trying to make heathier changes to my life.  My friends and family are my rock. I don’t know what I’d do without you!

Shakeology Cleanse

My experience of the Shakeology cleanse.  I did this cleanse back in October, and have to admit at the time I was a little leery.  At that point, I had never even tasted Shakeology.  I’d read peoples reviews, and listened to personal friends that had already had it, and just like everything else there were mixed reviews.  So, I convinced a few family members, and co-workers to start the cleanse with Sue and I.  I have to be completely honest; the first shake was NOT so great.  We had added frozen fruit, but our concoction was not to our liking….AT ALL.  So, the 2nd shake of the day, we tried the other flavor, and I liked that one more.  It had a great consistency, and the flavor was more like a wheat grass.  Very healthy tasting.  And for dinner that night, a delicious salad.  We put a ton of vegetables and a little bit of dressing, gave it a little shake, and viola!  Yum!
Day 2 of the fall cleanse.  Time to weigh myself.  I had lost 1.5 lbs.  Not too bad.  Here we go with the shakes again.  Lol.  This time, our breakfast shake was better.  We used the chocolate Shakeology and a half banana.  It was still a little too thick for my likings, but it tasted ok.  I thought for sure by this day I would be hungry, but I was feeling great.  I also had noticed that I slept amazingly the night before.  This was going good. 
Day 3, I had lost another 3 lbs.  This is GREAT!  This put me over my “rut” that I had been in for my weight loss journey.  I’m a happy happy person!  I honestly have loved this cleanse.  It was easy and I’m almost done.  Just gotta get through today.  Another shake, another salad and BAM!  The cleanse is over. 
Morning of day 4…a total weight loss of 7lbs!  FANTASTIC!  I’ll take it  J  Now can I keep it off.  Almost 4 months later, I sure can!  And I’m off to start my Winter Shakeology cleanse.  I’m excited to see my results this time.  I have been drinking Shakeology almost every day since then.  So, I wonder what the changes will be.  Stay tuned…lol

Happy New Years

Happy New Years everyone!  Hope all is well.  Over the last week or so, I’ve really taken the time to sit back and think about what is really important to me.  Here’s my conclusion.
Family.  I honestly have to say that I am who I am because of my family.  I also have to say that over the holidays, I found out that just because you’re blood related, doesn’t make certain people your family.  I know that sounds a little skewed, but it’s a realization that I’ve made, and I’m ok with it.  And on the flip side, just because they’re not blood related, doesn’t mean they’re NOT family.  Families are just really important and need to not be taken lightly.  I honestly can say that the happiest moment over the holidays was watching Sue’s 2 boys, (16 and 19) and my 8 year old play with my 8 year olds toys the day after Christmas.  It was hilarious.  And I couldn’t have been more thrilled. 
2nd, a home.  Not a house, but a home.  It doesn’t matter if it’s a trailer, and apartment, or a house.  HOME is where you make it.  It’s the smell of walking in the door and smelling dinner cooking, or hearing kids running around, or noticing that your dog has chewed up some paper.  And honestly, those are the same things that we take for granted every day.  We come home from a long day at work, and just want to come home to peace and quiet.  And I’d be lying to say that I’ve never come home and snapped at my son for just being a kid.  But when he’s gone, and when Sue’s boys are gone and our house is quiet…it’s nice for a day or two, but after that, it gets too quiet and I miss them.  So this year, I’m going to love our boys and be a little more patient with them. 
Third is loving myself.  You’ve heard the phrase “you can’t make someone else happy until you make yourself happy”.  I never fully understood this until this year.  When I am down and not happy about things in my life or myself, it is true that the universe will attract the same type of situations.  But when I’m working out, and eating well, and treating my body the way I should, I just feel better.  My health seems better, my relationships seem better, and the things that life throws at me I can handle.  It’s important to me to be healthy in mind, body and spirit.  So this year, I’m going to get back to working out daily.  I test drove my new workout video last week, Turbo Fire, and I’m hitting it hard tonight and every night forward.  I’m not talking about walking out like a maniac and then starving myself.  I mean actually lose weight the healthy way.  I’ve lost 30 lbs so far.  If I can do it, anyone can.
